| Another one of our Cluff Lake neighbours. |
Alex Flett, now in his eighties, was a Cluff Lake resident before the geologists arrived. As a trapper, hunter and fisherman, he has depended on the region's natural resources to provide for him and his family.
When Alex assisted the geologists, he helped unlock the potential of another Saskatchewan resource. Alex, along with four of his eight children, worked at the mine. Following his retirement, he returned to his traditional lifestyle, living in his cabin at Cluff Lake.
The rich deposits discovered over 30 years ago have helped make Saskatchewan a world leader in uranium production - and created significant employment and economic benefits for people in the north.
