What is an RSS feed?

RSS feeds send news and information from your favourite websites that can be viewed on your browser toolbar or sent to you via email. RSS feeds are convenient and a great way to receive information without searching for it.

How do I use an RSS feed?

1. With Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (IE7):
   
   IE7 has a built-in RSS feed reader that automatically detects what feeds are available on your current page.


1. Click the orange RSS icon located in your browser toolbar to view your feed options.
2. Choose the link you want, then click "Subscribe" on the page that follows. The feed is automatically added to your IE7 feed list.

2. With Firefox and Safari: Both web browsers support RSS feeds. See their support documents for further information.


3. You can also use software called a newsreader or aggregator, which can be:
1. A stand-alone software program like FeedReader (for Windows) or AmphetaDesk (for Windows or Mac). Both are free.
2. A web-based aggregator like My Yahoo!.
3. An email program that supports XML/RSS feeds.
